PA Club History
This page is devoted to keeping a record of the history of the Pennsylvania Club. You can view many photos and download a written history of the club. We're always looking for more pictures, stories or other artifacts for archiving and display, so that we may keep alive the rich past of this club and its members. More contemporary photos may be found on the Photos page. As an arbitrary dividing line, anything older than about five years will be posted on this page.
Written History
Read about the history of the Pennsylvania Club, written by Timothy Flora in June 1980. Contains many black and white photos. (PDF file, 1.3 MB)
Though not strictly a history of the club, here's an article giving a short history and description of the geology of Georgian Bay. (PDf file, 150 KB)
Photos
Photos
have been arranged somewhat chronologically, but many are my best guess
only. Most of the early ones do not have dates attached to them, nor
are many of the people in them identified. So if anyone has more information
on any of them, let me know and I will add captions as appropriate. There
are over a dozen album pages just to make things more manageable and
to cut down on the download time per page. Even so, for those of you
without high-speed connections, some pages will still be slow to load,
so be patient.

Nick Beninate attended the club as a guest every summer starting in 1982 until the late 90's. When his long-time Army buddy, Barney Boutelle, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and could no longer come. Nick reluctantly decided he better hang up his fishing rods. But he has sent in many pictures of the fun times he enjoyed fishing Georgian Bay and they are posted here. There are so many that they take up two pages. Most of the pictures were taken in the 1984-87 timeframe.

for the club. Jim Haas invited four guests from Germany who thoroughly
enjoyed themselves. Catching a five pound smallmouth helps some.
Bob Cline snagged a 43", 22# northern which may appear on
one of the club's walls one day. There are two pages of photos:
